Pre-Applied Adhesives and Sealants
A Pre-Applied Chemical Patch Is Applied To Threads To Enhance Locking, Sealing and Performance.
It is a type of adhesive used to secure threaded fasteners, such as screws, bolts, and nuts, in place. Thread locking adhesives work by creating a strong bond between the threads of the fastener and the mating surface. This bond helps to prevent loosening caused by factors such as vibration, thermal expansion an d contraction, or external forces. It also helps to seal the threads, providing some level of resistance to moisture and contaminants.
What can we supply ?
As a fastener manufacturer, we offer screws, bolts, and nuts with pre-applied chemical patches to enhance thread locking performance and provide effective sealing against loosening and fluid leakage.
DIN 267 - 27 (Adhesive coating)
Adhesive coating, in the form of micro-encapsulated adhesive, is applied to the threads of screws and bolts. These adhesives activate their bonding properties during the bolting process, effectively preventing the bolts from loosening over time.
DIN 267 - 28 (Locking coating)
A locking coating is a plastic layer applied to the threads of bolts. Its purpose is to prevent the bolts from completely disengaging when tightened. This coating can be applied either as a complete covering or in the form of strips or spots. It's important to note that while these coatings help prevent complete disengagement, they do not eliminate the possibility of bolts working loose over time.
The advantages -
- Coating locations can be tailored per customer’s application and requirement.
- Eliminates the need for O-rings, gasket seals and sealant compounds.
- Saves money and time
- Can be applied on internal or external threaded fasteners
- Applied according to either ISO standard, IFI standard or custom drawings.
